Eco Resort Network is pleased to share news of an exciting upcoming project in the Middle East from our friends at ENVI: ENVI Al Shafa, a mountain retreat set to open in December 2026 in the highlands near Taif.
Located more than 2,000 metres above sea level, ENVI Al Shafa will be a first-of-its-kind eco lodge in one of Saudi Arabia’s most celebrated summer destinations. Known for its cooler climate and dramatic mountain scenery, Al Shafa plays an increasingly important role in the Kingdom’s strategy to diversify tourism and highlight its natural landscapes beyond traditional desert environments.
The lodge is being developed in partnership with Second Masaken Company, Riyadh Housing, and Sumou Holding, and will feature a considered collection of one- and two-bedroom villas, designed to blend privacy, comfort and a strong connection to the surrounding environment.
Guests will also have access to a chef’s garden, a dedicated wellness centre, and a range of creative and communal spaces, including a ceramic studio, encouraging slower, more meaningful stays rooted in craft, wellbeing and place.
Designed to appeal to families, wellness-focused travellers and nature lovers, ENVI Al Shafa reflects ENVI Lodge’s wider mission: to create immersive, low-impact retreats that foster a deeper relationship between people and their surroundings. Set high in the mountains, this “sanctuary in the clouds” represents a new chapter in eco-conscious hospitality within the region.
